12u-13u-14u-15u Coaches - Head Coach - Kate Langan and Jessna Marmo, Assistant Coaches - Brooklyn Gallant Lisa Stewart and Kirk Mojica. 15u-16u-17u-18u Coaches - Head Coach Tracy Liburd, Assistants Coaches - Renee Michiels, Kelsey Caza, Arvin Adeva and Amanda Wudarzewski. 5/14/2021 0 Comments Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Announce Large Renovations to Outdoor Sand Courts at Emerald Lake Water Park12The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. has received an Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant to help fund the renovation of six beach volleyball courts at the beautiful Emerald Lake.
Press Release – May 14th, 2021 - Cambridge, ON. - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. is one of the largest and fastest growing youth beach volleyball clubs in Canada. This year, the club is celebrating 10yrs of providing youth beach volleyball programs to the public. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has had a working relationship with Emerald Lake Waterpark to use their 12 sand courts for the last seven years. Six of the courts were renovated in 2020. The final six beach courts will be significantly renovated adding drainage and bringing in Olympic quality sand. The club has been a recipient of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help partially fund the renovation of the final six beach volleyball courts located at the back of Emerald Lake Waterpark. The Scorpions have a lease with Emerald Lake to take maintain and utilize the facilities for their youth tournaments that are open to the public and for the Scorpions Beach program training programs. The courts will be built by C.O. Construction of Cambridge. Paul Langan, President of the Scorpions states, "With the completion of the renovation of the Emerald Lake courts, it will be the premier location for public youth beach volleyball tournaments in Ontario. A beautiful, scenic, fun location unparalleled in Ontario. With this new investment and lease we look forward to being able to host more tournaments and programs for youth in the area for years to come. The Scorpions Volleyball Club is appreciative of the continuing support Emerald Lake management has given to the club. We would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an Agency of the Government of Ontario, for funding a major part of the renovation of these courts. Investing in healthy activities for youth is paramount to the mandates of our club and the Trillium foundation." The Scorpions Club host the largest public youth beach volleyball tournaments in Ontario. Players do not have to become any organization to enter a tournament. The Scorpions will announce in two weeks their tournament schedule. It will comply with all government regulations regarding Covid-19. They successfully ran events in 2020 with protocols in place. Announce the Building of Outdoor Sand Volleyball Courts at North Dumfries Community ComplexThe Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. in cooperation with the Township of Dumfries is announcing the building of 3 sand volleyball courts at North Dumfries Community Complex in Ayr, ON. Press Release – May 7th, 2021 - Cambridge, ON. - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club Inc. is one of the fastest growing volleyball clubs in Ontario. It is the largest indoor and beach volleyball club in the Waterloo Region. The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club expanded into Ayr two years ago. The response has been fantastic. There currently are no sand volleyball courts in the Township of North Dumfries. To support the growth of beach volleyball club in the community the courts are being built. The club has been a recipient of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund to help partially fund the building three beach volleyball courts at the North Dumfries Community Complex. The courts will feature Olympic grade volleyball sand. There was also a donation of from Centre for the Community Group to help pay for the courts. The courts will be built by C.O. Construction of Cambridge. The Ayr Scorpions youth indoor and beach volleyball programs are under the leadership of Renee Michiels. Paul Langan, President of the Scorpions states, "The club has wanted to do a legacy project that the people of Ayr and the whole Township of North Dumfries can benefit from for years to come. Youth and adults can participate in the healthy outdoor sport of beach volleyball.
