5/24/2015 0 Comments Podstawka and Rotrekl Go Gold! The new adult male beach volleyball duo of Tom Podstawka and Pavel Rotrekl took little time to make their presence known on the Ontario Beach Tour. The duo won Gold in their first tournament of the season.
Tom is a former Canadian Beach Volleyball player and Pavel is a national team beach player from the Czech Republic. Tom also coaches for the Scorpions Volleyball Club.The duo dominated their opponents and did not lose a set all day. Their much anticipated finals was against two players, Cam Wheelan and Mike Platinga, who are in the national Team Canada beach volleyball program. Unfortuantely Tom and Pavel were not able to play them as Cam and Mike Platinga were forced to pull out of the gold medal match due to muscle cramping that happened during the match. Congrat to Tom and Pavel. The future looks very bright indeed for this new beach duo.

 The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has added a beach tournament Saturday June 20th, 2015 at Emerald Lake, Ontario to their 2015 Youth Beach Tour.
WireService.ca Press Release (05/07/2015) Cambridge, ON - The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club is pleased to provide the details regarding the addition of one more Ontario Volleyball Association Beach Satellite Tournament they will be hosting this summer. The Scorpions Volleyball Club has approximately five hundred youth involved in their summer beach programs. They have 40 competitive duos playing on the OVA Beach Tour. This summer the Scorpions are hosting seven tournaments. There are two tournamentsput on independently by the club and 5 Ontario Volleyball Association Satellite tournaments. The new date is Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at the beautiful Emerald Lake, ON. It is for boys and girls 12U,13U,14U, and 15U. Emerald Lake has 19 courts in a beautiful setting. An $8.00 per car entrance to the park allows registered players the opportunity to swim in the lake after the tournament. Paul Langan, founder of Scorpions Volleyball Club states, "We are excited to add another tournament at Emerald Lake. Parents and players have told us they love the relaxing atmosphere. The courts are surrounded by majestic trees and the lake.
