Partners Addyson Ignor and Erin Neil clinched Gold playing in the 16U Championship division, and partners Rylee Ignor and Payton Charbonneau won Gold while playing up in 16U in the Premier division. It’s rare, if not unheard of, to see two sisters compete in the same tournament and both come out on top, in separate divisions, on the same day! 🥇🥇 And the success didn’t stop there - Rylee and Payton also competed Saturday in the 15U OVA Premier division and took home Silver! 🥈🥈 A huge congratulations to these Beach Volleyball Scorpions on an incredible weekend. We are so proud of the hard work, grit, and teamwork shown by these amazing athletes! 💪🏐

Scorpions beach duo, Rylee Ignor and Payton Charbonneau kicked off the 2025 OVA season at Ashbridge's Bay this weekend with an impressive performance bringing home Gold in 15U🥇and tying for 3rd in 16U🥉! A cool and windy, but fantastic start to the beach volleyball season!
On May 17th and May 22nd the Scorpions Volleyball Club will have FREE "Learn to Play Volleyball Sessions for Adults" at sand courts, North Dumfries Community Centre in AYR from 6:30pm-8:00pm. No experience wanted! No preregistration, just show up and have fun. Coach Nicole will give you the basics in a fun environment. See you there!
Each year, part of your registration fee includes one tournament at Emerald Lake for all players registered in our developmental beach programs at Shade's Mill, Riverside Park and Ayr. Over the years it has proven to be a very popular tournament.
Due to the numbers registered in our beach program, it is not longer feasible to have it all in one day. So we have split the group into two separate days. We also have expanded the length of time of the fun tournament. The NEW CHANGE FOR 2025 Tournament Date is:

FOURS Tournaments: A Growing Sensation - Since pioneering youth FOURS tournaments in 2019, the Scorpions Club has witnessed dramatic growth in this format's popularity. The club has responded to increased demand by adding two additional tournaments for the 2025 season, including an early-season "TRY FOURS" event designed to introduce new players to this exciting format. DUOS Tournaments: A Tradition of Excellence - The Scorpions Club has been hosting beach DUOS tournaments at Emerald Lake Waterpark since 2013. Due to overwhelming demand, a sixth tournament has been added to the 2025 schedule. Separate female and male divisions are available for all age categories from 12U to 18U. 2025 DUOS Tournament Dates
Tournament Location: All tournaments take place at the beautiful Emerald Lake Waterpark and Trailer Park, just 15 minutes east of Cambridge, Ontario. The beach volleyball courts are set in a serene location surrounded by mature trees across the lake from the waterpark. Athletes will compete on 15 sand courts featuring Olympic-quality sand. We have on of the largest programs in Canada and the only competitive youth fours program. Here are the steps to follow. Here is the link to the beach volleyball competitive page. LINK
Step #1 - IMPORTANT - Read the FAQS for the program you are interested in. Step #2 - If you can commit to one of the programs, the next steps would be to find other player(s) for your duos or fours team.Once you have your partner/team togther the next step is: Step #3 - Only one person from the Duo or Fours team completes the respective Expression of Interest Form. For duos - you must know the name of your partner and a parent email address for each player of the duo. For Fours - you need the name of all 4 players and a parent email address for each player. Step #4 - We will notify you if you are accepted into the program and how to register. Step #5 - You will attend our Scorpions Pre-Season Beach Orientation Meeting outlined in the FAQs. Step #6 - If you are a new Duo or Fours team, you will register and attend our 2 day (May 10, 11th) Scorpions Commit to Beach preseason practical training. Registration starts March 15th for this training. We are happy to announce our 14th season of Scorpions Youth Beach Volleyball. The foundation of our beach development program.
Shade's Mill Conservation Area - 4 nights a week program at Shade's Mill Conservation Area. Grade 4,5,6 are Monday, Grade 7 on Tuesdays, Grade 8 on Wednesdays and High School on Thursday. Riverside Park Sand Courts - Grade 4,5,6 and a separate Grade 7,8 time, Saturday mornings at Riverside Park Sand Courts. Ayr Ontario - NEW additional night - TUESDAY - Grades 7,8 high school, WEDNESDAY - Grades 3-6. $125.00 fee include 9 weeks, once a week training, one tournament at Emerald Lake and a t-shirt. REGISTRATION STARTS on January 27th, 2025 on our website. https://scorpionsbeach.ca Our Recreational Adult beach volleyball at the North Dumfries Community Complex sand courts will be on THURSDAY nights this year. Registration will also start on the 27th. Program starts last week in May.
